Abstract Journal of Henry Ingersoll Bowditch recording a trip he took from Aug. 9 to Aug. 25, 1856, from Bangor, Maine, to Moosehead Lake, then down the West Branch of the Penobscot River to Mount Katahdin. Accompanying Bowditch were John W. Browne, a lawyer; Bowditch's son, Nathaniel Bowditch; and his nephews E. Francis Bowditch, Henry Bowditch and Charles P. Bowditch.
