Abstract

A volume used by William T. Mace of Readfield, Maine, to write copies of essays on subjects such as clouds, newspapers, and spring, as well as various aspects of United States history. Later parts of the volume contain memoranda from 1886-1892 describing daily activities on a farm and recording sales of cattle, 1889-1892.

Scope and Contents Correspondence of the Sanborn family from East Readfield, Maine. Includes letters, 1860-1870, to Peter Sanborn from his daughters and other family members, especially cousins; letters, 1862-1871, to Peter's daughter, Sarah F. Sanborn, from her father and sisters; as well as letters to sisters Frances (Fanny), Elizabeth (Lizzie) and Nellie. A few letters to Peter Sanborn's wife are also included in the collection.
