The records contain textual information created and curated by the University of Maine Commission on Graduate Education. Including: copies of reports concerning women at the University of Maine, various articles and reports collected as part of environmental scans into national trends in graduate education and employment, responses from the surveys sent out to faculty and students, brochures, and copies of Commission meeting notes, correspondence, and reports.

Ferguson, listing names of pupils and their ages, names of teachers, their wages per week, the names of those with whom they boarded and the costs per week, as well as names of truant officers, school visits by the superintendent, etc.

Abstract

A volume from an unidentified compiler listing log surveying activities from 1869 to 1883. Many of the surveys took place in towns in western York and Oxford Counties, Maine. Entries give the names of the people requesting the surveys, the types of trees, and the number of feet of boards, planks, etc. A few pages at the beginning of the volume contain minutes of meetings in 1867 of the Denmark Degree Temple No. 34, a fraternal organization in Denmark, Maine.

Scope and Contents The survey was developed to identify and document folklife resources within the state. Material culture collections were identified, and traditional festivals and community events were recorded using audio and video equipment. Almost a hundred interviews were conducted with informants during the course of the project.
