This collection consists of materials gathered by Professor Battick in association with his course in maritime history.

Daybook from an unidentified business in Thomaston, Maine, probably a general store.

Daybook, 1864-1868, of an unidentified merchant in Orland, Maine.

A ledger maintained, 1890-1912, by Roderick W. Delano, town treasurer of Verona, Maine.

A ledger, 1876-1891, of an unidentified merchant probably in Wiscasset, Maine. The volume records items sold to customers including lime, coal, cement, hair, etc. Sales were made both to individuals and to various schooners and other vessels. A later entry in the volume records visitors to an open house held August 11, 1937, at 12 High Street, presumably in Wiscasset.

Collection includes a daybook, 1854-1856, and three ledgers, 1851-1878, detailing customers and goods sold to them. A fifth volume, 1861-1897, records amount paid for labor done for taking care of and supplying vessels, hauling timber, selling wood, etc.

The records of a marine hardware firm. Included are catalogs, correspondence, employee records, bills, receipts, and medical records of employee accidents.
