The records mainly contain textual information particularly meeting agendas, minutes, reports, notes, and supporting material from University of Maine Board of Trustee and various committees (both standing and ad-hoc committees), biographical information related to individual University of Maine trustees, chairs, sectaries, and clerks, and various files on subjects under consideration by the Board.

Daybook, circa 1834-circa 1843, of S. Dakins (possibly Sherilah?) of Orono, Maine. One side of volume begins with what appear to be art history notes with brief biographical sketches of Van Dyck, Raphael, Leonardo da Vinci, etc. Other side of volume contains expense accounts.

Charles J. Dunn Papers
The collection covers his entire legal career, his term as Treasurer of the University of Maine, and his term as Maine Supreme Court Judge. Included are correspondence, letters, bills, and receipts. The legal papers include records of cases involving assaults, divorce, estates, collections, bankruptcies, and pensions. Also included are records of the University of Maine (1896-1936), the draft board (WWI), and the town of Orono (1833-1914).

Chester Hamlin Goldsmith Scrapbook
A scrapbook compiled by Goldsmith while a student at the University of Maine. It includes signatures and comments of class members as well as programs, photographs and memorabilia of campus activities and fraternity life. Items of interest within the scrapbook include photographs of the Sigma Chi house on the campus as well as photos and postcards of scenes in Orono and Old Town, Maine.

Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Orono Lodge No. 18 (Orono, Me.) Constitution
Volume includes a printed copy of the constitution, bylaws and rules of the organization pasted onto the first few pages followed by a list of members, 1844-1852. The list includes information about each member's residence, occupation, date of initiation and age.

The materials contain information about her family; the town of Farmington, Maine; and her activities in the many clubs of which she was a member.
Maine Militia Records
Includes general, company, and regimental orders, 1839-1842, primarily from the 3rd Division, 1st Brigade of the Maine Militia from Orono and Old Town, Maine. Also includes lists of members and notes certifying that individual members were unfit for military service due to various medical conditions. A list of members for an unidentified company from 1829 and a financial note from 1857 are also found in the collection.
Gideon Mayo Papers
Records from Mayo's involvement in various businesses in the Orono, Maine area and as an agent for several sawmills on the Stillwater River, including the Basin Mills, the Island Mills, and the Orono Manufacturing Company.
