Scope and Contents This collection includes a series of interviews conducted by MFC staff with men who were enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s, who and served at one of the three camps run by ANP: the Eagle Lake or Bar Harbor camp, the Long Pond or Southwest Harbor camp; and the Ellsworth camp. Scope and Contents This collection contains interviews with people associated with the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) and the Common Ground Fair in Unity, Maine. Themes include the process of beginning to farm organically, the early development of MOFGA and its growth; the Common Ground Fair and its expansion; marketing organic food; farming strategies; raising livestock; and MOFGA’s interactions with conventional farmers and the wider community.
Scope and Contents A series of six interviews about swordfishing in Nova Scotia conducted by James Moreira and David Sanger of the University of Maine Anthropology Department in 2003. This collection consists of six audio interviews, one video and 2 cds containing photographs. Themes include experiences growing up in fishing families; techniques used in catching swordfish; processes involved after swordfish is spotted and harpooned; how to spot and track swordfish.
