Maine Twin Party Papers
Collection, 1938-1976, consists of the papers of the Maine Twin Party organization. Includes correspondence, photographs, clippings, scrapbooks, and a film reel documenting their semi-annual parties celebrating twins, and their research benefits. This party started as a small gathering for research, it expanded into a state organization that continued until the mid 1950s.
Maine Typothetae Records
Contains records of Maine Typothetae, Portland, Maine, including correspondence, 1920-1926, of executive secretary Edward A. Harris and administrative subject files containing member and customer lists, payroll records of various member companies, communications from United Typothetae of America and statistical information. Collection also contains newsletters and other publications produced 1923-1926 by other Typothetae organizations.
J. C. Mangold Correspondence
Correspondence received by J. C. Mangold in response to his proposal to purchase one or two large daily newspapers to establish a neutral German newspaper that would fight pro-English propaganda and uphold neutrality during World War I. Correspondents include representatives of the National German-American Alliance and the Imperial German Consulate as well as individuals with a possible interest in the proposal. Collection also includes a few personal letters to Mangold.

Robert McAllister Correspondence
Letters written to Robert McAllister from Fred C. Low concerning the 1st Maine Heavy Artillery Regiment and its charge at Petersburg on June 18, 1864. In the letters Low expresses his gratitude to McAllister for his defense of the performance of the 1st Maine and its commander Daniel Chaplin in the disastrous battle fought that day. Drafts of letters from McAllister to Low are also included.
Arthur McArthur Letters
Two letters written by Arthur McArthur, Limington, Maine, to William Cutts. The letter of March 6, 1854 is brief and indicates that McArthur is sending Cutts money that he owes him. The second letter, written January 31, 1855, discusses Cutts's military pension and its probable increase.

The papers of a lawyer and judge in Maine. Included is a summons to either of the constables of the town of Biddeford sent by Prentiss Mellen, Justice of the Peace, dated 1801. Included also are four letters signed by Prentiss Mellen and a personal recommendation for Thomas E. Hale dated July 29, 1807. The letters were sent to Abraham Touva, Isaac Parker, and Henry E. Prentiss. Included also is a summary of Prentiss Mellen's accomplishments and a portrait.

Monroe Family Letters and Diary
Letters and a diary of a family in Waterford, Maine. The letters are from William Munroe to his sons Josiah, Merrick, and Daniel; from Merrick to his brother Josiah; and from Achsah Carlton to her brother Daniel. The diary was written by Jane S. Monroe in 1847. Included also are photocopies of the letters and diary. Included also are photocopies of records of births, marriages, and deaths of the Delano family in Abbot and Guilford, Maine.
Hiram Kelley Morrell Papers
The collection consists of miscellaneous papers of Hiram K. Morrell, including correspondence from 1898 about a dispute with the Gardiner Water Power Co. over water damages to Morrell's property and a draft of a letter written by Morrell in 1903 to Andrew Carnegie asking for money for the public library in Gardiner. Also included are lists of names and addresses perhaps of subscribers to or advertisers in the Gardiner Home Journal.

Eliab W. Murdock Papers
Letters written by Eliab Murdock to his wife Sarah Murdock while serving with Company F of the 17th Maine Infantry Regiment and the Veteran Reserve Corps during the Civil War. Also includes letters written by Sarah Murdock to her husband as well as a few written to Murdock by his daughter Pauline and his brother James; letters of recommendation and reference, 1841-1844, for Murdock; and his military discharge papers and military pension documents.
Frederic Coleman Murphy Papers
Papers include copies of Coleman's letters, 1929-1945, primarily to his mother and sister in which he writes of his life while teaching in Berlin, N.H., as an analyst in the Bureau of Foreign and Domestic Commerce in Washington, D.C., and while serving with the United States Army in Italy during World War II. The collection also contains letters of condolence to Coleman's wife after his death in 1945 as well as family photographs.
