The letters are from Fred LaForest Johnson's father, his young brother Harry, his cousin Carrie who lived in Northport, Maine, his aunt Amanda from Fort Wayne, Indiana. The bulk of the correspondence is from his sister Mae. Included also are a diary from 1877, 2 photographs of Fred, a short genealogy of the Johnson family, and other miscellaneous letters and papers.
