A scrapbook compiled by Boardman to document his activities as president of the University of Maine, 1926-1934, and as chair of the Maine State Liquor Commission, 1937-1941. Includes newspaper clippings, photographs, correspondence, etc.

Biographical Note

Harold S. Boardman graduated from Maine State College (now the University of Maine) in 1895 with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. After graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he returned to the University of Maine and became head of the civil engineering department in 1903. He became dean of the College of Technology in 1910, serving until 1925 when he was appointed acting university president. He was named president in 1926, serving until 1934. From 1937 to 1941 he was chair of the Maine State Liquor Commission. Harold Boardman died in 1969.
