Biographical Note
John Lawrence Guice was born in Lakewood, N.J. on March 3, 1908, the son of John R. and Victoria Baker Guice. He graduated in 1929 from the University of Maine with a degree in history and government. He taught school in St. Francis, Kingman and Madawaska, Maine, and then worked for the Social Security Administration in eastern Maine, retiring as district manager in 1972. John Guice died on August 9, 1993.
