Scrapbook from University of Maine alumni Loren F. Stewart. The scrapbook contains clippings regarding University of Maine athletics and programs from meets and games, various dance cards, programs, photographs, and memorabilia regarding Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Alpha Tau Omega, clippings and programs from various Maine Masque Theatre performances, clippings regarding a fire at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house in Orono, a copy of the student handbook (1942), and various clippings and programs from events on the University of Maine's Orono campus and in Maine, regarding Stewart's time as an eagle scout, and his father Loren Prescott Stewart's service in World War II.

Biographical / Historical

Loren F. Stewart from Augusta, Maine majored in chemical engineering at the University of Maine (1938-1942) and was a member of the University of Maine Class of 1942. While a student at the university Stewart was a member of Alpha Tau Omega, Scabbard and Blade, Maine Outing Club, and served as Indoor track Manager and as a proctor for Hannibal Hamlin Hall.

After leaving the University of Maine Stewart served in the U.S. Army rising to the rank of colonel. Loren F. Stewart died in 1968.

Stewart's father Loren Prescott Stewart also attended the University of Maine and was a member of the Class of 1915.
