Biographical / Historical
The minutes note that the University of Maine's Faculty Arts Club first met on October 13, 1923 at the house of Dean James Stacy Stevens, the first dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. However, there are earlier references to the Arts Club in the student newspaper Maine Campus (1909).
