Also, Kappa Sigma Fraternity membership certificate for Austin Whittier Jones, University of Maine matchbox, various song sheets, program for Glee and Instrumental Clubs, University Calendar published by the Class of 1912, program from Farm and Home Week Banquet (1948), note regarding Class of 1944 Graduation Exercises, and program from Class of 1948 Graduation Exercises, Class of 1949 Junior Promenade Program, and programs from M.I.A.A. State Meets (1905,1906, 1907 & 1909), Invitation Field Meets (1905, 1906 & 1910), and Bowdoin Interscholastic Track Meet (1907).

Biographical / Historical

Vaughan Jones and Austin Jones were sons of Freeland and Mabel Vaughan Jones of Bangor, Maine. Vaughan Jones was born in 1881 and was a graduate of the class of 1904 at the University of Maine. He died in 1967. His brother, Austin Jones, born in 1888 in Caribou, Maine, was a member of the class of 1912. Austin Jones' son, Freeland Jones, was born in 1923 in Bangor and was a 1948 graduate of the university. He died in 2006.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Gifted to Special Collections by Karen Walker as Accession #2013-1010a. The University related memorabilia had been saved by Karen Walker's family members Austin Whittier Jones, Freeland Jones I and Freeland Jones II.
