The records contain financial statements prepared annually by the University of Maine and audited by an accounting firm. Includes the statements and a cover letter from the auditing accounting firm. Post 1968 the statements include University of Maine System campuses.

Biographical / Historical
The 1931 and 1932 statements were audited by the Portland, Maine office of Ernest & Ernest Accountants and Auditors. From 1933-1962 the financial statements were audited by Millet, Fish & Dresser (later known as Millett, Rittenhouse & Dresser) Public Accountants and Auditors who were based in Portland, Maine. In 1963 the financial statements were audited by Portland, Maine firm Jordan & Jordan Certified Public Accountants. Starting in 1964 the financial statements were audited by Lybrand, Ross Bros. & Montgomery. By 1974 the statements were audited by the Boston Massachusetts firm Arthur Anderson & Company.

Physically the folders are arranged in reverse chronological order by fiscal year. Material was rehoused into archival quality storage and file names added.

Processing involved a collection survey and the creation of this finding aid. Material was rehoused in appropriate archival folders and the boxes and folders numbered and titled added using information from ArchivesSpace.
