Biographical / Historical
The Distinguished Lecture Series was organized by the Distinguished Lecture Series Committee of the General Student Senate of the University of Maine. The purpose of the DLS Committee was to obtain leading spokesmen and women representing various philosophies, promoting causes, achieving great deeds, and otherwise influencing the course of events and shaping today's world. The policy was to obtain a balanced variety of speakers in order that as many diverse areas as possible might be covered.
