Historical Note
Lincoln County was formed in 1760, and included all of Washington and Hancock counties until 1789, all of Kennebec County until 1799, all of Waldo County until 1827, all of Sagadahoc County until 1854, and three towns of Androscoggin until 1854. Pownalboro is the shire town.
