Biographical Note

Sydney Howard Carney Jr. was born on December 3, 1863, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Hortense S Abbott, age 23, and Sydney Howard Carney, age 26. He had two brothers who died in infancy, and one sister. Sydney went on to become an M.D. and resided primarily around the New York City area, although the family owned a home in Maine as well. Dr. Carney was also the author of the book, "Genealogy of the Carney family : descendants of Mark Carney and Suzanne Goux, his wife, of Pownalboro, Maine, 1751-1903". Sydney Howard Carney Jr. died on January 13, 1945, in New Rochelle, New York.
