Mervin F. Roberts, a resident of Old Lyme, Connecticut, was born in New York City in 1922. He received a B.S. degree from Alfred University in 1947. He was chair of the Connecticut Governor's Council on Marine Resources, chair of the Connecticut Shellfish Commission and president of the Connecticut Association of Conservation Commissions and Wetland Agencies. He has served as a consultant to various aquaculture projects in Maine.
