John Judson Pike Account Book
Scope and Contents
Hand written ledger lists work completed by those employed by Pike who appear to have been repaid mostly in goods, including corn, potatoes, clothing, pistols and other supplies. Several entries keep track of the sale of cows and meals provided for men and oxen.

Biographical Note
John J. Pike was the son of John Pike and Hannah Hubbard. He is listed in the 1870 Census of Agriculture as owning / managing 50 acres of improved land, 35 acres of woodland and 80 acres of other improved land in Fryeburg. He was buried in the Pike Cemetery in East Fryeburg.
