Scope and Contents

A photograph album belonging to L.W. Taylor, a member of the class of 1883 at the Maine State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (now the University of Maine). The album contains images of members of the class, as well as of college president Merritt C. Fernald and members of the faculty. Photographs of some members of the classes of 1880-1882 and 1884-1885, as well as group pictures of the class of 1883, civil engineers of the class of 1883 and members of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, are also included

Biographical Note

Levi W. Taylor was born in Jay, Maine, in 1858. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1883 and received a master's degree in 1886. He was a teacher and school administrator and later became an accountant and engaged in statistical research. Taylor died August 9, 1937.
