From names and businesses mentioned in the volume, the compiler appears to have been a farmer in Farmington, Maine, perhaps a member of the Craig family. The name Frank E. Craig is mentioned frequently. Income is from the sale of such items as eggs, wool, milk and cattle; expenses are for groceries, farm labor, repair of machinery, etc.
