Biographical Note

Arthur H. Norton was a native of St. George, Maine. He was a geographer, botanist, mammalogist, ornithologist, and editor. In 1940, he was awarded an honorary Masters of Science by the University of Maine. He was curator of the Portland Society of Natural History for 37 years.
