Biographical Note
Rufus King Cushing (1802-1889) was born in Brunswick, Maine, and earned degrees from Bowdoin College in 1821 and 1824. He practiced medicine in Bangor and Brewer, Maine, and served as the first city physician of Bangor in 1834.
