Scope and Contents

Daybook recording purchases by customers from an unidentified business in Standish, Maine, probably a general store and sawmill. Early entries document purchases of salt, molasses, coffee, rum, etc., while those from the early 1800s onward show accounts for sawing boards, plowing, and hauling supplies such as salt and meal. The back of the volume was used to list expenditures in 1865 for labor and construction supplies, partially for construction of a dam, as well as containing a list of deaths from 1866 to 1882.
