Historical Note
Maine Typothetae, located in Portland, Maine, was a trade association of about 40 commercial printing businesses in the state of Maine. It furnished information on production, technical education, record-keeping and distribution to its members and also maintained a credit and collection bureau for their use. It was affiliated with United Typothetae of America, a national organization of master printers and print shop owners.
