Biogrpahical Note
Stephen Berry was born Dec. 21, 1833 in Augusta, Maine and died Feb. 1, 1919 in Portland, Maine. He was a printer and publisher in Portland and author of several masonic histories. He was a 33rd degree mason; assistant grand secretary of the Grand Lodge of Maine, 1856-1891; grand secretary, 1891-1917; and grand secretary emeritus, 1917-1919.
