Biographical Note

Amos G. Winter was a merchant selling groceries, feed and building hardware in Kingfield, Maine. He was born in Kingfield in 1863. He attended the Dirigo Business College in Augusta, Maine, graduating in 1883. He was one of the organizers and owners of the Kingfield Water Company, and he helped to organize the Kingfield Savings Bank, of which he was President from 1895 to 1914.
