Historical Note

The Universalist Ladies Industrial Association was founded Nov. 19, 1858 in Orono, Maine. The name changed to the Ladies Society in the 1860's and to the United Guild sometime before 1918. The items are associated with Charles J. Dunn through his wife who belonged to the Ring family, and many women with the surname Ring appear in the pages of the records.
