The collection includes a handwritten history of Old Town, Maine (9 p.); a handwritten copy of An Act to incorporate the plantation heretofor called Stillwater in the County of Hancock into a town by the name of Orono (1806) with notes about the history of Old Town; an envelope addressed to Carrie E. Pierce (1911); a receipt (undated) from John Connors to I. F. Pierce for curbing; a receipt from Abbie Veazey to Mrs. Pierce dated Old Town Oct. 31, 1885 for one month's tuition; records from the Ladies' Keeley Aid Society in Old Town; a clipping with 2 letters recommending the Keeley Cure and the Keeley Institute in North Conway, New Hampshire; and a page of the Bangor Daily Commercial dated June 25, 1921, with an article titled The early missionaries to Indian Island, Old Town, Me. by Sarah E. Kelley.

Historical Note
Old Town, Maine, located 12 miles north of Bangor, was once a part of Orono. It was incorporated March 16, 1840 and incorporated as a city March 30, 1891.
