Historical Note
The Pejepscot Bank in Brunswick, Maine went into operation in 1857 and became a national bank in 1865. William Barron was the first president of the national bank. He was succeeded in January 1866 by William S. Skolfield, who served until 1875, when H. C. Martin was elected to that office.
