Biographical Note
Mary Childs Jane was born in Needham, Massachusetts. She graduated from Massachusetts College of Bridgewater. She taught school in Kentcucky and Massachusetts. She married William S. Jane in 1937 and moved to Newcastle, Maine. She began writing children's books in 1952. The most popular of her sixteen books, The Ghost Rock Mystery (1957), sold nearly a million copies in the United States.
