Historical Note
The Independent Order of Good Templars was founded in Utica, New York in 1850 as the "Knights of Jericho," a secret fraternal temperance society. Its name was changed to the Independent Order of Good Templars in 1852. The Pemaquan Lodge No. 210 in Pembroke, Maine began Feb. 9, 1867.
