Contains papers of various members of the Chamberlain family of Brewer, Maine, including those of Joshua Chamberlain, Jr., his wife Sarah Brastow Chamberlain, and their children Joshua L., Horace B., Sarah B., John Calhoun, and Thomas Davee Chamberlain. Papers of members of the Farrington family are also included.
Joshua Lawrence Letter to Adjutant General of Maine
A letter written by Chamberlain to Maine's Adjutant General stating that the name of Daniel Donovan, a member of the 20th Maine Infantry Regiment, should be on the list in the Adjutant General's office of those present in the battle of Gettysburg.

A photocopy of a diary kept by William Livermore during his service with the 20th Maine Regiment. The diary begins on August 31, 1862 at Camp Mason in Portland, Maine, and ends in Portland on June 22, 1865. It provides an almost daily account of Livermore's service with his company.
