Eleven scrapbooks containing columns written by Illyn between 1958 and 1970 for Novoye Russkoye Slovo, a Russian-language newspaper published in New York City. The columns are about life in the Soviet Union, politics, the history, literature and people of Russia as well as the experience of being a Russian emigrant in Maine. The town of Richmond, Maine, a center for Russian settlement in Maine, is featured in several of the columns.
